The trailhead is on Poki

Smash Room is hosted on poki.com, a separate site run by Poki. The link opens the game's Poki page in a new tab; Morakrevikkai does not host or run it.

What happens on the route

There is no level to finish and no score to beat. You choose one of 20 everyday objects, such as a laptop, a birthday cake, a boombox or a burger, and place it in the room to be broken. The objects are ordinary things you would find at home or at a party, which is part of the joke: the game gives you permission to wreck the things you normally have to be careful with.

Next you choose one of 12 weapons. The list includes rockets, baseball bats, cluster bombs and a spinning saw. Everything is built from voxels, so a hit breaks the object into hundreds of small pieces, and explosions can set off chain reactions. Each weapon behaves differently. A bat breaks what it hits, a rocket or a bomb spreads the damage around, and the spinning saw cuts through. Watching how the same object comes apart under different weapons is most of the fun.

The whole game is played by clicking or tapping, which makes it just as easy on a phone as on a computer. A session lasts as long as you want it to: swap the object, swap the weapon, and try again. Because there is no failure state, there is also nothing to learn before you start. The first click already does something visible, which makes it one of the quickest games in this register to understand.

Notes for a first ascent

  • Try the same object with two very different weapons, for example a baseball bat and a rocket. The way the voxels break apart changes a lot.

  • Explosive weapons such as cluster bombs are the quickest way to see a chain reaction; blunt ones break things piece by piece.

  • Work through the object list rather than sticking with the first one. With 20 objects and 12 weapons, there are plenty of pairs to try.

  • Since there is nothing to win, treat it as a short break: a couple of objects, then close the tab.

Who takes this route

Anyone who wants a few minutes of noise and debris without rules, timers or failure. It is also one of the easiest games here to hand to someone who rarely plays. It fits the gap between two tasks rather than a long evening; players who want a longer arc will find more in Talking Tom Gold Run or War Master.

Loose rock: what to weigh

  • There is no progression or goal, so players who need a target to aim for may lose interest quickly. Once you have tried most object and weapon pairs, there is little new to discover.

  • Poki may show ads around the game. They come from Poki, not from this site.
